On November 21, 2024, the Library of Foreign Languages hosted an engaging event for master’s students specializing in Psychology. The event was organized by Anna Karpenko, an associate professor from the Department of Foreign Languages. A unique feature of the event was its bilingual format—conducted in both Ukrainian and English—which not only facilitated better comprehension but also allowed participants to enhance their language skills.
The event began with an introduction to the library. Students were acquainted with available literature, electronic resources, and the diverse events regularly held in this space.
The second part of the event featured a training session using game-based techniques to combat stress. Participants engaged in exercises designed to develop skills for effectively managing stressful situations in both everyday life and future professional endeavors.
The event concluded with a screening of a film in English, followed by a lively discussion. During the discussion, students analyzed the plot and key ideas of the movie. This format not only fostered critical thinking but also helped improve English proficiency and communication skills.
The event demonstrated that combining interactive teaching methods with language practice is an effective tool for preparing professionals in the field of psychology.
